Staying Off the Internet Crack Pipe

by Jeff Abbott on September 22, 2008

My friend Kirk McElhearn, who often writes for Macworld magazine, has posted instructions on how to set up your Mac with a specific account just for writing. If you do this you can activate only the applications you need, and can deactivate distractions like the web.
I haven’t tried this method yet, but it’s a good way to keep your brain focused on your writing and to avoid long hours of Internet wandering/procrastination/”research”.
