Yes, when things are going to hell in a handbasket, nothing makes us feel better than dogs. Here’s some cute dogs to make you smile (video link below).

My family loves to watch the Westminister Dog Show. We never really watched it until we decided we’d get a dog (our first–my first since I was a kid, and my wife’s first dog ever), and we wanted to see the various breeds to find the right fit for our family. Now Westminister is appointment viewing. We have two Cardigan Welsh Corgis (the Corgi with the tail) that are absolutely wonderful dogs–loyal, loving, full of personality, and very protective of family and turf, so we always root for the Cardigan competitors. You can see the Cardigan breed judging competition here. (Sorry, it won’t let me embed the video on this page.)

Favorite moment: at the very end (which you can jump to), when a little girl in a blue shirt reaches past the velvet rope to pet the beautiful best of breed winner, and the Cardigan licks the girl’s hand. This Cardigan winner went onto the Herding Group competition, where it made the second cut of dogs but not the top four. A Puli won, and will compete for Best in Show.
And regardless if dog shows strike you as silly or entertaining, then you should add Best in Show to your Netflix queue. A fun movie about dog shows–but a film that’s really about human nature.

We have a mix terrier/Border Collie/Beagle, so we always root for a number of dogs, hehe. Your Corgis sound wonderful!
